Our story
Branch Capital Group was founded by Collin Chladil and David Burtness, two brokers who kept seeing the same problem from different sides of the table: franchise and small business owners were getting sent to lenders who were never going to fund their concept in the first place, buried in paperwork, and left waiting without a straight answer.
Collin's background is in residential and commercial real estate, where he learned firsthand how a well-packaged file is the difference between a fast approval and a deal that stalls out in underwriting. David came from the SaaS world, bringing the process discipline and systems thinking that turn a chaotic loan file into something a lender can move on quickly. Together, they built Branch Capital Group around one idea: match every deal to the lenders who actually fund that specific concept, and prepare the file to underwriting standards from day one — instead of hoping the first lender you called happens to be the right fit.
That lender-panel-first approach is still how every deal moves through our pipeline today.

David Burtness

David Burtness is a Co-Founder of Branch Capital Group, where he leads financing solutions for new unit buildouts, equipment financing, and lines of credit. His background in SaaS brings a technology-driven, scalable approach to structuring capital for franchise and business owners.
What sets us apart
- Lender panel matched to your concept. We don't send your file to a generic list. Our lenders are pre-qualified for the specific franchise and business types we source.
- Full document packaging. Most brokers hand the lender a half-built file. We prepare it to underwriting standards.
- No fee unless you fund. Our compensation is contingent on a closed loan. If you don't fund, you owe nothing.
- SBA Form 159 compliant. All borrower-paid fees are properly disclosed on SBA-funded deals.
